Palomar Energy Center
Escondido, Calif.
The Kiewit team was awarded the contract to engineer, procure, construct and startup the 554-megawatt combined cycle power plant with two GE 7FA combustion turbines, a GE D11 steam turbine with downflow exhaust, a Nooter/Eriksen heat recovery steam generator and a seven cell cooling tower.
Marsh Landing Generation Station
Antioch, Calif.
The Kiewit team will engineer, procure and construct the 800-megawatt natural gas-fired power plant with four 200-megawatt simple cycle units. Project equipment includes four Siemens 5000F(4) combustion turbines, four emissions control systems complete with selective catalytic reduction (SCR) and oxidation catalysts, exhaust gas-tempering air fan systems, three fuel gas compressors and balance of plant equipment.
Langley Gulch Power Plant
New Plymouth, Idaho
The Kiewit Power Engineers and TIC - The Industrial Company team was awarded the contract for all design, engineering, engineered equipment procurement, construction, startup and performance testing services for the 300-megawatt nominal natural gas-fired combined cycle power plant.
Hoevensa GT-13
St. Croix, US Virgin Islands
The Kiewit team provided detailed design, procurement and performance testing (to be concluded upon owner completion of startup and commissioning) for the 25-megawatt steam cogeneration power plant. When fully operational, the project will provide the additional steam and power capacity required to operate the new low sulfur gas production unit in the Hovensa oil refinery.
High Desert Power Plant
Victorville, Calif.
Completed nearly two and a half months ahead of schedule, the 830-megawatt High Desert Power Plant project involved placing three gas combustion turbines and a 323-megawatt steam turbine. Kiewit also performed work in the control, administration, warehouse and water treatment facilities
Chouteau 2 Power Plant
Chouteau, Okla.
The team of Kiewit Power Engineers and TIC - The Industrial Company was awarded the contract to engineer, procure, construct and startup the 540-megawatt natural gas-fired combined cycle power plant with two Siemens V84.3A2 combustion turbines, two Vogt NEM heat recovery steam generators and a Siemens KN condensing steam turbine.
Goreway Station
Brampton, Ontario
Goreway Station is an 875 MW (nominal net output) natural gas fueled combined cycle generating station in Brampton which was placed into commercial operation in June 2009. The project utilizes General Electric's Frame 7FB combustion gas turbines in a 3x1 configuration and is among the largest combined cycle installations in Canada.
Haynes No. 3 and No. 4 Generating Station Repowering
Long Beach, Calif.
Kiewit was awarded this design-build contract to engineer, procure, construct and commission the new 577-megawatt dual-fuel, combined cycle power plant at Haynes Generating Station. The project, completed one month ahead of schedule, benefited from a successful partnering initiative between the Kiewit team and the Owner.
Millcreek Generation Facility
St. George, Utah
Millcreek Generation Facility, originally completed in 2006, serves thousands of homes and businesses in southwest Utah. Successfully completed in spring 2010, the 45-megawatt expansion is needed to fulfill heightened demand during summer months for the growing population of the southwest United States.
